Tubersol Intradermal Solution

GENERIC NAME: TUBERCULIN (too-BER-kyoo-lin) PPD

COMMON USES: This medicine is a diagnostic agent used as a screening test for tuberculosis (TB).

HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE: Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. The results of this test are usually read within 48-72 hours. Be sure you understand the procedure for reading the results. STORE THIS MEDICINE as directed on the manufacturer's label.

CAUTIONS: IF YOU HAVE HAD A MEASLES OR FLU SHOT within 4 to 6 weeks, tell your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have ever had a positive TB test or a positive TB skin test. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include redness, pain, or itching at injection site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience a blister or open sore at the injection site. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE: INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
