GENERIC NAME: THROAT LOZENGES
COMMON USES: This medicine is used to treat sore throat, sore mouth, or pain from canker sores or other mouth irritation.
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE: Use this medicine exactly as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. Allow the medicine to dissolve slowly in mouth. Do not chew or crush. May repeat every 2 hours or as directed by doctor or dentist. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light.
CAUTIONS: DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you have ever been allergic to local anesthetics including: procaine, butacaine, or benzocaine. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take this medicine for longer than 2 days for sore throat or 7 days for mouth sores without checking with your doctor. If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: A SIDE EFFECT, that may go away during treatment, is numbness of cheeks, tongue, or mouth. If it continues or is bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience difficulty breathing, fever, headache, swelling of the mouth or tongue, nausea, or vomiting. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE: Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about taking this medicine.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children and pets. CHECK WITH YOUR PHARMACIST about how to dispose of unused medicine.
